Unser Forschungsgebiet

Wir befassen uns mit der synaptischen Hemmung von Neuronen sowie mit der raum-zeitlichen Organisation von Aktivitätsmustern in neuronalen Netzwerken. Neben der normalen Funktion des Nervensystems interessiert uns besonders die Pathophysiologie neurologischer psychiatrischer Erkrankungen, darunter Epilepsie, Depression und Morbus Alzheimer. Für unsere Untersuchungen setzen wir ein breites Spektrum an Methoden der Elektrophysiologie und funktionellen Bildgebung in vitro und in vivo ein.
