Our Field of Research
The scope of our laboratory covers a wide range of recent and classical techniques for molecular and cellular studies:
- All scales from the motility of single molecules to the electrophysiology of whole cells.
- Special interest in calcium imaging and nonlinear microscopic techniques.
- Acquisition of experimental data, image processing techniques and automated analysis.
- In parallel, development of mathematical models.
Main subject of research: | mammalian skeletal muscle |
Study muscle diseases: | Duchenne dystrophy with miniDys and mdx mouse models |
Critical illness: | myopathy |
Exchange Programme
The group collaborates with the lab of Prof. Wolfgang Fischer at the National Yang-Ming University
in Taiwan within the framework of an exchange programme in the areas of neuroscience, bioinformatics, biophysics and biotechnology.
A list of all exchange programmes at Heidelberg University can be found here.
