RESEARCH SUMMARY

Autophagy disorders have shown to prominently affect the brain in ageing and
disease. Membrane-binding proteins in autophagosomes (AVs) use specialised
motifs to induce and stabilise diverse membrane curvatures and mechanically
drive the transition into characteristic cup-shaped vesicles. My work aims on
elucidating how membrane-shaping proteins could act as master regulators of
autophagosome sorting, shaping, and fusion.
