At the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg it is possible to obtain a doctorate as Dr. med., Dr. med. dent. or Dr. sc. hum.
The doctorate to Dr. med. or Dr. med. dent. is only open to graduates of the degree programs in human medicine or dentistry. The doctoral procedure for the Dr. sc. hum. is primarily open for graduates of other degree programs who would like to do a doctorate on a medical topic at the Medical Faculty of Heidelberg.
Doctorate Dr. sc. hum.
The doctoral procedure for the Dr. sc. hum. is primarily addressed to graduates of other than medical degree programs who would like to do a doctorate on a medical topic at the Heidelberg Medical Faculty. Graduates of dental medicine or human medicine can only be accepted under certain conditions (usually an additional non-medical master's degree of 120 ECTS).

Doctoral Congress
