Medical studies in Heidelberg

Studying on the Neuenheimer Feld campus

Heidelberg is the place to be for medical students. Not only is the city a visual, cultural and economical powerhouse - the large medical-scientific district Im Neuenheimer Feld in particular attracts students and researchers from all over the world.

  • For me, Heidelberg is the perfect university town due to its great diversity, but at the same time manageable size. This diversity is also reflected in the medical degree programme. My friends and fellow students come from many different cities and nations.

Communication and interaction training for medical students

Teaching & examination routine in human medicine

Communication skills are essential for establishing a sustainable patient-doctor relationship and thus for a successful treatment. Medi-KIT, the communication and interaction training programme for doctors, prepares students for typical communication challenges in everyday medical practice.

To this end, simulation patients (SP) are used in lessons from the first semester onwards. In small groups and thus in a protected environment, students are given several opportunities to have conversations with SPs.

  • The degree programme gives you a lot of space to get involved and live out your potential outside of the curriculum. Our student council in particular is very active and there are events coming up all the time.
