Association of the United Kingdom with Horizon Europe
The EU and the UK have agreed to the UK's association with Horizon Europe. This officially came into force on January 1st, 2024. The following regulations regarding the involvement of British partners must be observed:
- For calls containing the call identifier 2023, the previous regulations apply unchanged: British institutions participate as Beneficiaries in the application, but are listed as Associated Partner from the preparation of the Grant Agreement and receive their funding via the guarantee commitment of the British government.
- For calls with call identifier 2024, the general rules for Associated Countries apply. UK organizations can therefore participate fully in further Horizon Europe calls, including as coordinators.
Both regulations apply exclusively on the basis of the call identifier. The deadline of the call is irrelevant in this context.
