Junior Group Leaders (JGL)

Welcome to the Medical Faculty Heidelberg Junior Group Leader (JGL) Network.

Are you a new Junior Group Leader at the Medical Faculty Heidelberg (MFHD)?

Join a vibrant community of like-minded early-career researchers who are shaping the future of science and medicine here in Heidelberg!

Our MFHD JGL Network brings together around 30 Junior Group Leaders from diverse institutes and clinics across the faculty. We’re more than just a mailing list – we’re a platform for connecting, exchanging ideas, and tackling shared challenges. Whether it’s navigating faculty structures, exploring funding opportunities, or sharing leadership experiences, this is the place to grow together.

The group is strongly supported by the MFHD Deans office for research, ensuring your voice is heard and your needs are met. Together, we work to create opportunities, strengthen career development, and make sure every JGL has the resources they need to thrive.

We meet quarterly in an informal and friendly setting – the perfect opportunity to network, brainstorm, and collaborate. Meeting updates and news are shared via our internal email list.
