Program:
This funding line is intended to support medium-sized equipment with a financial volume of between 50,000 and <200,000 euros, as these are generally difficult to cover through other funding measures but are indispensable for daily research routines. In accordance with the recommendations of the Research Commission and the resolutions of the Faculty Board based on these recommendations, the approved funds should be used for equipment investments that are used exclusively for research; funds for personnel and consumables cannot be applied for. The call for proposals is published once a year.
Application requirements and procedure:
Only scientists who are employed full-time (usually with more than 50% of their employment) at an institution of the Heidelberg Medical Faculty and are at least working group leaders (including the Junior Group Leaders of the Heidelberg Medical Faculty (MFHD-JGL)) are eligible to apply. Preference will be given to applications for equipment that
- urgently need to be updated or replaced and are of particular importance for research groups at institutes/clinics;
- enable new or previously not (or not sufficiently) available methods and
- are demonstrably used by several research groups and/or institutes and/or clinics.
A contribution of 30% of the procurement costs must be paid by the applying institution. The application procedure is one-stage, the applications received are assessed by a selection committee.
