Neuro- and sensory physiology

The department deals with a broad spectrum of neuroscientific issues at the level of neuronal networks. The six research groups work on the mechanisms of coordinated neuronal activity as well as pathophysiological processes in oxygen deficiency, neurodegenerative and inflammatory diseases. We use a broad spectrum of methods from electrophysiology, imaging and behavioural research as well as modern molecular and structural methods.
