If your doctoral supervisor agrees with the version of your dissertation, you can submit all documents (see below) completely and originally signed to the office of doctoral affairs and apply for admission to the doctoral examination - your doctoral procedure is officially opened.

When submitting the dissertation BEFORE passing the state examination, initially only the first 12 documents must be handed in.

3. Copy of your identity card or other official passport (if not already submitted with the application)
4. 4 address labels with your address
5. Suggestions of the supervisor for the second reviewer(form)
6. Initial review from the doctoral supervisor: original + 1 copy + 1 copy as e-mail attachment in PDF format to dissmedpromotion.DMF(at)med.uni-heidelberg.de
7. Dissertation and the abstract of the thesis in German in PDF format without restriction of permissions and, if applicable, publications as PDF by e-mail to dissmedpromotion.DMF(at)med.uni-heidelberg.de. The files are to be named as follows: Surname_First Name_Birthday(DD)_Birth Month(MM)_Birth Year(YYYY)_Dissertation  Surname_First Name_Birthday(DD)_Birth Month(MM)_Birth Year(YYYY)_Summary  Surname_First Name_Birthday(DD)_Birth Month(MM)_Birth Year(YYYY)_Publications
8. 3 bound copies of the dissertation with (signed!) affidavit (the remaining copies for the UB will be requested after acceptance in the doctoral conference)
9. If applicable, publication(s) resulting from the dissertation as first or second author (copy of the article or submitted manuscript + acceptance confirmation of the journal)
10. Statisticalform (pre-printed form)
11. Payment receipt of 50 Euros to: Heidelberg University Hospital Baden-Württembergische Bank Stuttgart BIC: SOLA DE ST IBAN: DE64 6005 0101 7421 5004 29 Intended purpose: Project No. D.10081310 / Doctorate
12. Certificate (not the transcript of records!) of successful participation in the MEDISS doctoral program (obligatory for all doctoral degrees registered since 01.12.2016).

13. examination certificate (officially certified, if necessary double-sided copy, no recycled paper!)

14. if necessary copy of marriage certificate / name change

15. curriculum vitae (signed, without listing of publications)

Please note

The documents to be submitted are examination documents and must be archivable. Therefore, do not make the copies on recycled paper!

All original documents to be submitted for the doctoral procedure will remain with us, so please make copies for personal use if necessary beforehand.

The dissertation does not have to be handed in personally, you can also submit it by mail or assign someone to hand it in.
